Apple refuses RMAs for Mac Mini
It seems Apple is refusing to repair and/or return Minis which have the infamous DVI noise bug, which has been traced to a bug in either the ATI firmware or the ATI hardware in the Mini, or perhaps the DVI adaptor shipped with the Mac Mini. Some G5 boxes have this bug as well, and it seems it can not be fixed with a driver upgrade.
Apple refuses to take the Minis back on the ground that they "only guarantee compatability with ALMOST every DVI display" - obviously not the many ones from Philips, Fujitsu, Sony, etc that don't work - including (!) some Apple displays. Apple seems to have forgotten what Steve Jobs said.
I wonder where the so-often claimed better liability of commercial software is now. Apple (and ATI) know damn well that all Mini users are helpless because they can't just replace the graphics card in the Mini, and most don't want to return the whole machine, because they basically like the rest of it and there is no similar machine available. And Apple has got everybody's money already, so why should they care?
That's what you get when you don't have a choice, and your dealer knows it, I guess.
Do I sue Apple for not repairing this problem? Thousands of users are fighting with it.

New ATI display drivers - fix or not?
Follow-up by mail:

I'm looking forward to it - but it seems it didn't help at least some people: Apple discussions website
